Highlights from our week:

In science/social, we have extended our initial research by selecting one  animal from our global country and to now study this animal with guiding questions. These included the characteristics of the animal, to look at the habitat of the animal and to research it's diet (prey) and it's predators.

In math we have been reviewing the rules of subtraction (more on top, no need to stop; more on the floor, go next door & numbers the same, zero is the game) as well as looking at what to do when our neighbors have nothing to give.

We spent some time each day this week getting our Harry Potter shapes sketches done and next we will cut them out and get them into our visual journals! We also created two visual journal entries: one asked us to look back at 2018 and the other asked us to think about what could happen in the year 2019.

We had library! In PE we have finished our week with Mission Impossible. Ask me what I am doing in music.

We started Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone this week!! (yay!) We have talked about Harry's quality of life compared to Dudley's quality of life. While we found there were lots of differences, we also believe that neither Harry nor Dudley have the best quality of life. Ask me why.

We finished that last 15 minutes of Wonder this week. We also supported our friend River who posted his first Youtube video in hopes of becoming a Youtube sensation. Way to go River!

We spent time daily in our literacy center! We had one group finish their novel Fantastic Mr. Fox- we can't wait to see what they choose as a final project next week :)

We tried out some new number math games on coolmathgames.com (different from coolmath.com) on Friday as well as enjoyed some Monopoly morning :) We talked about why we play games and skills that we would be looking to meet as we played. We talked about cooperation, having fun, thinking of strategy, using math and reading skills and showing an ability to read and follow directions. We certainly had a fun day!

We also talked today (Friday) about Mrs. Bezugley's exciting plans of joining a new school to learn and grow with. We wondered when she might go, why she might look to move on, if Ms. Rooke could be the principal, and what we might want in a new principal. We gave Ms. Bezugley a big hug and will ask her questions as we think of them. We will certainly miss her SO much.

Have a great weekend everyone!
