Highlights from our week:

In math we have been working on our Ikea bedroom design to use a real-life application of addition and subtraction with regrouping. We have also been playing games like double or triple digit addition war and our magic 10s to continue building our math facts.

We have continued to work in our literacy centers in our literature circles as we work on fluency and comprehension of texts we are reading. We have also introduced the teachings of the buffalo (respect) and have worked to identify ways we show respect in our own lives. We have been working on a visual journal entry with a sketch of a buffalo and some writing to document our learning. We also had some free write time!

In social, we have been looking into the animals that live in our the global country we selected earlier in the year. We finished our quick research task that asked us to find 3 animals we were interested in and to record 3 facts about each of those animals along with a quick sketch of the animal.

We had two special guest readers this week! Ms. Taylor Rooke, who is a member of a national bobsledding team, joined us early in the week and Mr. Mark (Ryder's father), a senior firefighter joined us on Friday. We LOVED our time with both of our guests :)

We've watched a couple Tinga Tinga tales to get us thinking about Pourquoi Tales :) They are great!

We are doing gymnastics in PE.

We did some flashlight reading with our buddies :)

Have a great weekend!!
