Happy first day of break to all of you! We had a fantastic first term in our classroom and enjoyed a wonderful celebration on the last day to wrap up our learning for the decade. I am sure most of you have now heard the BIG news!! Ms. Parent brought in a new class pet for Christmas- a beautiful little hamster named Olive. It was actually quite the ordeal as one of the students in our class happened to be at the store while Ms. Parent was picking her up and she had to use a distraction of some cute puppies to actually complete the adoption without her seeing ;) The intention in bringing in a class pet is to: support the development and learning of the sense of responsibility and kindness for other living beings, to help students learn and have respect for animals in our classroom and to provide students with opportunities to talk, write stories and research about animals as it supports language and research skills. IMPORTANT INFORMATION Food Bank We are collecting non-perishable food for the Calgary Food Bank for the next 2 weeks. If you would like to donate, please send the food to the classroom, as we will weigh the food prior to putting in the donation boxes.
