We have a class pet!! Please read this update for information.

Happy first day of break to all of you! We had a fantastic first term in our classroom and enjoyed a wonderful celebration on the last day to wrap up our learning for the decade. I am sure most of you have now heard the BIG news!! Ms. Parent brought in a new class pet for Christmas- a beautiful little hamster named Olive. It was actually quite the ordeal as one of the students in our class happened to be at the store while Ms. Parent was picking her up and she had to use a distraction of some cute puppies to actually complete the adoption without her seeing ;) The intention in bringing in a class pet is to: support the development and learning of the sense of responsibility and kindness for other living beings, to help students learn and have respect for animals in our classroom and to provide students with opportunities to talk, write stories and research about animals as it supports language and research skills. IMPORTANT INFORMATION Food Bank We are collecting non-perishable food for the Calgary Food Bank for the next 2 weeks. If you would like to donate, please send the food to the classroom, as we will weigh the food prior to putting in the donation boxes. Winter Celebration, Recorders + Caroling

WHISPERS of WINTER Please join us at our winter wonderland for an evening spent together with family Thursday, December 12th, 2019 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM Prince of Wales School Food bank donations will be accepted RECORDERS   - All grade 4-6 students will be needing their recorders for music the next three weeks!  Keep them in your backpacks kids! :)  CAROLING   in the Gym -  Everyone is invited to join us for some festive fun the last week of school.   Tuesday Dec 17 @ 1:00 PM - Caroling plus 2 special songs by our grade ones and twos.   Wednesday Dec 18 @ 9:00 AM – Caroling Thursday Dec 19 @ 12:30 PM  - Caroling plus Prince of Wales Handbell Ringers.
